Dr Karl Jawhari – What Can Help Your Chronic Back Pain

Chronic back pain can be a terrible affliction to have, and it can completely dominate everything you do. This is one of those pains that make you realize exactly how much we need our backs in mobility. There are, of course, several reasons as to why you can suffer from chronic back pain.

When I have spoken to my local physician here in Texas, Dr. Karl Jawhari, he often struggles to make a diagnosis in practice given the wide range of options that it could be. If you are suffering from chronic back pain, then there are some activities that you can do to reduce the pain. If these don’t help alleviate the pain, you should always seek proper medical assistance to diagnose and treat your problem.

Chronic Back Pain

New Mattress

Back pain can often be caused by having poor quality or old mattress, putting pressure on the wrong parts of your back. It is recommended that you replace your mattress every 6 to 8 years to make sure that it is doing everything possible to support you, and if you have left it any longer than that or if you have a damaged mattress, you may find that a new mattress can help with your pain.

Yoga techniques have been very beneficial in dealing with back pain, and you may wish to try this out to see if it can help you. Before any yoga class, be sure that you speak with the instructor about the issues you are having to see whether or not you should be taking the class. They are not medical professionals, of course, but they can indicate whether or not this is a good idea.

Applying Heat

Your back pain may or may not be the result of a muscle problem, and if so, you can apply a heat pack that will help to soothe the muscle. If this doesn’t work, then the issue may not be a muscle problem, but adding heat to the area will not harm.

You can buy heat packs which you can use in the area. Alternatively, you can buy creams and gels with self-healing properties to relieve any pain or stress in the affected area. This is always worth a try, and if the pain is muscular, you will be able to find great relief in this kind of treatment.

As we mentioned before, if these options don’t work, you need to get to the bottom of the problem and see a medical professional who will be able to give you a proper diagnosis and the right treatment.
