Chronic back pain can be a terrible affliction to have and it can completely dominate everything that you do. This is one of those pains that makes you realize exactly how much we need our backs when it comes to mobility. There are of course a number of reasons as to why you can suffer from chronic back pain and when I have spoken to my local physician here in Texas Dr. Karl Jawhari in the past he very often struggles to make a diagnosis in the practice given the wide range of options that it could be. If you are suffering from chronic back pain then there are some activities which you can do to reduce the pain, if these don’t help to alleviate the pain then you should always seek proper medical assistance to diagnose and to treat your problem.
Very often back pain can be caused by having a poor quality or old mattress which is putting pressure on the wrong parts of your back. It is recommended that you replace your mattress every 6 to 8 years in order to make sure that it is doing everything possible to support you and if you have left it any longer than that or if you have a damaged mattress, you may find that a new mattress can help with your pain.
Yoga techniques have been seen to be very beneficial in dealing with back pain and you may wish to try this out in order to see if it can help you. Before any yoga class be sure that you speak with the instructor about the issues that you are having in order to see as to whether or not you should be taking the class or not. They are not medical professionals of course but they can give you an indication as to whether or not this is a good idea.
Your back pain may or may not be the result of a muscle problem and if so you can apply a heat pack which will help to soothe the muscle. If this doesn’t work then the issue may not be a muscle problem but adding heat to the area will not do any harm at all. You can buy heat packs which you can use on the area, alternatively you can buy creams and gels which have self-heating properties which can help to relieve any pain or stress on the affected area. This is always worth a try and if the pain is muscular then you will be able to find great relief in this kind of treatment.
As we mentioned before if these options don’t work then you need to get to the bottom of the problem and go to see a medical professional who will be able to give you a proper diagnosis and the right treatment.
